May 3-4	57th Annual Loyalty Day Celebration Initiated in 1950 by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Loyalty Day is a National Salute to Patriotism. Long Beach boasts the longest consecutively running Loyalty Celebration in the nation, the big parade (with more than 100 entries) is on Sunday the 4th.
May 3	Loyalty Day Children's Parade All are welcome! Join this kids-oriented parade in Ilwaco. After the parade, kids can get a close-up look at a Coast Guard helicopter.
May 3	Blessing of the Fleet Join us for a free boat ride and participate in the annual blessing of the fleet.

May 23-26	Memorial Day Weekend Kick off the summer season with a long weekend of surf and sand.
May 23-26	World's Longest Garage Sale 28-miles of garage sales! Grab a copy of the Chinook Observer, or just follow the signs. There are so many sales, you can practically walk from one to the next, up and down the Peninsula.
May 23-26	SummerFest! Clowns, bubbles, face painting, musicians, pets, contests, fun & games, a dunk tank and more! SummerFest events are free and family-friendly, in downtown Long Beach.
May 31	Southwest Washington Anglers' Sturgeon Derby Big prizes. Entrants receive an official derby t-shirt and a ticket to the spaghetti dinner. This popular derby fills up fast, so sign up early. Then head to chinook to watch the action!

Jul 4	Independence Day Fireworks on the Beach The main event is one of the best fireworks shows around, set off in front of the Long Beach boardwalk. Hours of spectacular pre and post-show fireworks can be seen up and down the length of our 28 miles of beach. This is one of those has-to-be-seen-to-be-believed events.

Sep 6-7	Rod Run to the End of the World Thousands of classic cars flock to the Peninsula for this annual event. The main events are held at Wilson Field in Ocean Park; you'll see these amazing cars all over the Peninsula.
Sep 20	Baker Bay Kayak/Canoe Race 10K flatwater, circular course open to all ages and ability levels. The race limited to 100 participants divided into 9 divisions, so register early.
Oct 10-12	87th Annual Cranberrian Fair Head to the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum (aka Ilwaco Heritage Museum) to celebrate the harvest with artisans, music, dancing, the 'Bog Bus' and more.

Oct 11-12	One Sky, One World Kite Carnival One Sky One World gatherings will be held annually around the world to promote protection of the planet, peace, friendship and understanding between all people.
Oct 12	27th Annual Great Columbia Crossing This is your chance to be a pedestrian on the amazing 4.1-mile-long Astoria-Megler Bridge, which spans the Columbia River near its mouth. Participants are shuttled from the Port of Astoria to the Washington side of the river and runners and walkers return across the bridge to the finish line.
Oct 15-Nov 15	Wild Mushroom Celebration Participating restaurants, inns and bed and breakfast establishments offer daily wild mushroom specials. Wild mushroom workshops, field excursions and prix-fixe dinners are also offered. October 15 - November 15.
